Sebastian Hermann
Dipl.-Ing. Urban Planner

Sebastian Hermann is a partner at ASTOC and shapes the firm’s strategic direction in urban planning. His work focuses on projects involving re-urbanisation, land-use conversion and neighbourhood development. He also specialises in the development and planning of campus projects for education, research and healthcare at the interface between architectural and urban planning scales. He combines analytical planning methods with practice-oriented processes and translates scientific approaches into concrete results. In his previous teaching role at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, he promoted the exchange between theory and practice, the insights from which continue to inform his work today. He leads interdisciplinary teams, is characterised by integrative working methods and open dialogue formats, and acts as a catalyst for sustainable development processes in urban planning and architecture. In broad-based planning processes, he successfully mediates between differing interests and is adept at managing dialogue with a wide range of project stakeholders. As a confident communicator, he takes to the stage at numerous public events.
