Exclusive glimpses of the state-of-the-art hospital before it goes live
The anticipation is rising! There are still three months to go until the two open days at the Anna-Seiler-Haus, the future main building of the Inselspital Bern.
It is our heart's project. With our contribution entitled "Cœur de l'île", we three architectural offices were able to convince the jury of the international competition in 2013 and achieve the commissioning as general planners by the University Hospital of Bern. We, that is the offices ASTOC, GWJ and IAAG.
A lively quarter and a high quality of stay combined with state-of-the-art functionality - this will be realized with the new Anna-Seiler-Haus. The Inselspital, founded in 1354 thanks to the foundation of Anna Seiler, is, like the Berlin Charité, a medical competence center of international importance on a hill near Bern, which is being further developed according to a master plan by Henn Architekten. The task was to double the gross floor area while maintaining the same footprint during operation. In addition to architectural issues, the procedural and logistical penetration, implementation and execution thus also play a major role. As the centerpiece, the sixteen-story new building forms the high point of the Inselspital that is visible from afar. It will officially go into operation on September 18, 2023, and will offer the best medical care for patients, as well as a modern and attractive working environment for all employees.
Inselspital invites you to see the new building for yourself on the weekend of August 19 and 20, 2023. We architectural offices are also very much looking forward to welcoming you to the Anna-Seiler-Haus and presenting the architecture to you.
